UK Magazine Freebies (March 2015): Free Balance Me Products

I've done things a little bit differently this month and spilt my March magazine freebies post into two separate posts (you can find my first one here). This was mainly down to the fact that I forgot that the March issue of Glamour (dated April 2015) came with a freebie Balance Me product..*oops*.

As I'd forgotten about the freebie when my subscription copy of Glamour arrived at the end of last week I was even more excited than usual.
UK Magazine Freebies: Freebie Balance Me Products
Now Balance Me isn't a brand I know a great deal about unfortunately. However, I have tried a couple of their freebie magazine samples before (they seem to be given away with Glamour quite frequently) and they're pretty good products.

The latest issue of UK Glamour Magazine comes with a choice of four freebies - Balance Me Radiance Facemask (30ml),Balance Me Super Moisturising Body Wash (100ml), Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash (30ml) and  Limited Edition Balance Me Shine On Tinted Lip Salve in 'Sheer Red' (full size tube).
My subscription copy of Glamour came with the Balance Me Limited Edition Shine On Tinted Lip Salve in 'Sheer Red' which would've been my freebie of choice should I have had the choice. I haven't had the chance to try this product out properly as yet but I'm looking forward to giving it a try.

The latest issue of Glamour (March 2015,dated April 2015) is out now, costing £2.00.

February Favourites

Hi lovelies,
I can't believe that it's time for another monthly favourites post, this years going pretty quickly. Well I'm sure you've read enough of my rambling attempt at an introduction, here's what products/items I was loving throughout February.
First up is this Primark statement necklace, which I bought last year (I believe it only cost me around £4 too..bargain!) I'm surprised that I haven't featured this necklace in a previous favourites post as I've worn it quite a lot. It's such a lovely, versatile piece and can really add that extra something to an outfit.

If you're a regular reader then you'll probably know that I'm partial to a magazine freebie or two and I admit that I will often buy certain issues of magazines just for the freebie.. oops.
I'm sure that some of you will already be aware of the Nails Inc freebie in the latest issue of Marie Claire (dated April 2015) but for those of you who aren't then here's a little heads up.
Marie Claire Nails Inc April 2015

Review: L'Oreal Paris Miss Manga Punky Mascara

On a recent trip to Boots I noticed that the L'Oreal Miss Manga Punky Mascara was on offer for £5.99 so I decided to purchase it on a whim. This mascara is an addition to the L'Oreal Miss Manga line and it claims to create a 'spiky' lash look.
I didn't realise this before I purchased this mascara, if I'm honest (and I always am) I prefer my lashes to look less 'spiky' and more natural. However I've tried it a number of times now so I thought I'd share my feedback.
The mascara wand has very short bristles and tends to pick up a lot of product, however I believe this is intentional as it helps to create the 'spiky' effect.
If you are looking for a 'spiky' lash effect then this mascara does definitely live up to it's claims - it gives the lashes lots of volume and 'spikiness' (is that even a word haha?!) without making them feel heavy. However due to the sheer volume of product that the mascara wand picks up it is quite difficult to work with and tends to make lashes look a little bit clumpy.
Unfortunately I don't think I'll be reaching for this mascara again any time soon, the dramatic spiky lash look just isn't for me. However if you are a fan of a slightly more dramatic lash look and fancy giving this product a go,you can find it here for £8.99

What's your current favourite mascara?
